National Judicial Academy (NJA) organized an Interaction Program on Judicial Appointment and Accountability in Global Perspective on 27th January 2012 at NJA training hall, Hariharbhawan, Lalitpur in collaboration with International Commission of Jurists, Nepal. The key speaker of the program was Mr. Graham Leung, Director, Center for the Independence of Judges and Lawyers, ICJ. Honorable Justice Mr. Bharat Raj Upreti, Supreme Court of Nepal presided over the interaction program. In the mean time, Hon. Dr. Ananda Mohan Bhattarai, Judge, Court of Appeal, Hetauda made a presentation on Judicial Accountability and Challenges. Further, the honorable members of the Constituent Assembly Khim Lal Devkota, Agni Kharel, Radheshyam Adhikari and Laxman Lal Karna have made short remarks.
Hon. Raghab Lal Vaidya, Executive Director, NJA delivered a welcome remarks on behalf of the organizers. After the remarks the participants put queries and observations to the speakers. And speakers responded to the queries of the participants. Judges of the Court of Appeal, members of the Constituent Assembly senior prosecutors, senior judicial officers, law professors and lawyers were the participants of the program. At the end, the chair of the program Justice Upreti gave closing remarks and Mr. Fredrick Rawski, Representative, ICJ Nepal delivered a vote of thanks.

National Judicial Academy, in collaboration with International Commission of Jurists, Nepal organized a talk program on issues and Challenges of Judicial Reforms in Asia on 20 December 2011 at the Academy's training Hall, Harihar Bhawan, Lalitpur, Nepal. The key speaker of the program was Dr. Livingston Armytage, Director, Center for Judicial Studies from Australia. Honorable Justice Kalyan Shrestha, Supreme Court of Nepal presided over the program. The objective of the talk program was to share the experiences of judicial reform process from the region and learn the best practices to have successful reform in Nepal.
The talk program began with registration of the participants at around 3:30 pm. Judges of Court of Appeal Patan, Judges of Kathmandu Valley District Courts, Senior Judicial Officials, Senior Prosecutors, Professors, Lawyers and other professional attended the program. There were altogether 90 participants participated in the program. Honorable Judge Mr. Til Prasad Shtrestha, Faculty Member at the NJA conducted the program.
