NJA's Eighth Anniversary Programme Observed

The National Judicial Academy (NJA), Nepal observed it's Eighth Anniversary Programme on 17th March 2012. The Chairperson of Judicial Academy Council Right Honorable Chief Justice Khil Raj Regmiwas the Chief Guest in the Anniversary Programme. On the occasion, former Executive Directors of the NJA Justice Tope Bahadur Singh, former Justice of the Supreme Court, and Honorable Justice Mr. Kalyan Shrestha, Justice of Supreme Court, were felicitated by the Letter of Honor for their memorable contribution and outstanding services rendered to the NJA as Executive Directors.

Further, in the Anniversary Programme,NJA Law Journal 2011 (Volume 5) was launched by the Chief Guest. The Journal contaied a number of articles researched on different themes of transation in Nepal.

In the Anniversary Programme, Right Honorable Chief Justice Regmi said that the NJA has done commendable job in relation to training and research in the field of law and justice, and there has been remarkable changes in the performance of judges and other human resources in the judiciary. On the occasion, former Justice Tope Bahadur Singh and Justice Mr. Kalyan Shrestha also spoke and shared the experiences of the NJA. Faculty Member/Judge Honorable Til Prasad Shrestha delivered a welcome remarks along with activities of the NJA since its establishment. In the meantime, Minister for Law and Justice Honorable Brijesh Kumar Gupta, Senior Supreme Court Justice Damodar Prasad Sharma, Member of the Judicial Council Honorable Khem Narayan Dhungana, Attorney General Honorable Mukti Narayan Pradhan, President of Nepal Bar Association Mr. Prem Bahadur Khadka and Director of Nepal Administrative Staff College Ram Bhakta Shrestha have delivered remarks on celebration of the Eighth Anniversary Programme of the NJA. The program was chaired by the Executive Director of the NJA Honorable Raghab Lal Vaidya and delivered remarks with a vote of thanks.

In the programme, Justices of the Supreme Court, Members of the Judicial Council, Members of the Governing Council of the NJA, Judges of Court of Appeal, Secretaries of the Nepal Government, High Level Officers of the Nepal Judicial Service, District Judges, Senior Law Practitioners, guests from NJA partner organizations, media persons and others have attended.
