National Judicial Academy, Nepal (NJA-Nepal) Team

Shreekrishna Mulmi is a Director of the Research and Development Department at National Judicial Academy, Nepal (NJA-Nepal). He has earned LL.M. in International Human Rights Law (2008/09) from University of Hong Kong and in Criminal and Corporate Laws (2002 - 2004) from the University of Pune, India. He joined NJA-Nepal as Research Officer in 2005. Before joining at NJA-Nepal, he used to practice law as an Advocate (License No 6790, 2056 BS) in different courts in Kathmandu. As a Director at NJA-Nepal, he directs/coordinates/undertakes research and training activities and prepares training manuals and materials including coordination with justice sector organizations for training and research programs. He also supervises activities carried out by other subordinate officers, staff, interns etc. at NJA-Nepal. He has also the experiences in coordinating international/regional conferences in the field of law and justice. He involves in a number of research programs undertaken by NJA-Nepal and other institutes in Nepal. He also edits other publications of the NJA Nepal. He has published more than a dozen research articles and book chapters published in Nepal and abroad. He worked as Editor-in-Chief and Editor of the NJA Law Journal, published by the NJA-Nepal, for 15 years. As a scholar, Mr. Mulmi had participated and presented papers in many international conferences including the 7th and 8th International Conferences on the Training of the Judiciary, and the both were organized by International Organization for Judicial Training (IOJT) respectively in 2015 in Recife, Brazil and in 2017 in Manila, Philippines. He also has experiences of working as Panel of Judges in different moot court competitions conducted by ICRC and other institutions. He possesses expertise in commercial law, human rights law, humanitarian law, criminal law, civil law, judicial education, fair trial, international criminal law, gender justice, juvenile justice, access to justice, domestic violence, social inclusion and other social justice issues etc.

Mr. Rajan Kumar KC, having his MBA degree in Human Resource Management and LLB in Law holds immense knowledge and expertise in various law-related project activities, supported by international development agencies as well as donor organizations.

He started his career as an Accounts Officer at the Center for Legal Research and Resource Development (CeLRRd) in 1998. At the same time, he worked at the Kathmandu School of Law (KSL) for its establishment (2000 AD) as a Finance Manager till 2006. He has meticulous writing and editing skills, and competency in handling projects, making records, and rendering technical inputs. He has been working in the law and justice field and is very aware of Nepal's laws, justice mechanisms, and judicial system. This adds value to his knowledge of management ground and also justifies his diversified personality.

In 2008, Mr. Rajan entered NJA-Nepal as a Business Development Manager (BDM). Under his capacity as a BDM, he gained extensive experience preparing and submitting Project Proposals, Concept Notes, ToRs, LoAs, MoA and MoUs for partner organizations etc. UNICEF Nepal, USAID/TAF, The Embassy of Denmark, UN WOMEN (then UNIFEM), DanidaHUGOU, ILO/IPEC, Nepal, University of OSLO, Norway, DFID/ESP, Association for the Prevention of Torture (APT)- Switzerland, Save the Children Norway, EU, ICJ Nepal, WORLD BANK, CMP II European Commission, International Alert, UNFPA, A to J/RoLHR-UNDP, CTED/Global Center, ICRC, JICA, KOIKA, DoJ/OPDAT US Embassy, Kathmandu, Center for Reproductive Rights, and agencies of Government of Nepal.

He stands as a focal person for the program implementation of the partnership program. As a BDM he directs and undertakes research activities, coordinates training, and prepares training manuals and materials including coordination with justice sector organizations for the training and research programs. Some of the finest research of NJA he was involved in are (Studies on Women’s Access to Justice, Restorative Justice, Transitional Justice, Anti-Money Laundering, and GESI). His contribution to training in NJA on the subjects of human resource management and juvenile justice, gender justice (Right to privacy), and Combating Human Trafficking is truly appreciable.

Mr. Rajesh Bastola is from Duwakot, Bhaktapur. He was enrolled as an advocate at Nepal Bar Council in the year 2018. Currently, He is a Section Officer of the Training Management Department at National Judicial Academy. He is an editor of the National Judicial Academy Law Journal, a research-based journal on law, justice, and contemporary legal issues.

Mr. Bastola completed his B.A.LL.B from Nepal Law Campus, Tribhuvan University, in the year 2018. He was ranked one candidate all over Nepal in the South Asian University LL.M level entrance exam. Further, He was a Silver-Jubilee Scholarship and President Scholarship holder at South Asian University for 2018/19 and 2019/20, respectively. He was ranked one candidate during LL.M at South Asian University under the Non-Indian category. He was also recommended as ranked one candidate for the Section Officer in the open candidate category via Public Service Commission examination for the National Judicial Academy.

Being a research scholar, Mr. Bastola is engaged in writing articles in the area of law and justice for law journals and newspapers. He participated in various national and international level seminars, conferences, and moot court as well. His core area of interest includes international law, investment law, arbitration, and trade law. His latest publication is “Two-Tired Arbitration in Nepal; An Appraisal of Law and Practice’’ published on Nepal Bar Council Law Journal 2020.

Mr. Ganesh Subedi is from Phedikhola -1 Syangja. He was worked as Lecturer in Bachelor program at Tri-Chandra Multiple Campus and other reputed college in Bachelor and Masters program about 4 years. Currently, He is Statistics Officer at National Judicial Academy. Mr. Subedi completed his M.SC. STATISTICS from Central Department of Statistics, Tibhuvan University and M.A. ECONOMICS from Patan Multiple Campus, Tribhuvan University.

He participated conduction training organized by National Judicial Academy. He has Strong analytical and statistical research skills, Effective communication, Organization and Time Management Skills, Result –oriented and goal-driven, Good Team Player. He has Experience in data analysis and statistical projects with MS Excel, SPSS, STATA, R programming. He has Ability to setup survey/research questionnaires for android devices/tablets by using KoBo Toolbox.

Mr. Tekendra Nath Yogi is from Dilasaini-5, Baitadi. He was worked as Lecturer in B.SC CSIT program offered by Tribhuvan University about 3 years. Currently, He is Assistant Director (Information Technology) at National Judicial Academy.  Mr. Yogi completed his B.SC CSIT from Siddhanath Science Campus, Tribhuvan University and M.SC CSIT from Central Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, Tribhuvan University.

Being a research scholar, Mr. Yogi is engaged in writing and publishing research paper in the area of artificial intelligence and machine learning. He has published research papers entitled “comparative analysis of machine learning based classification algorithms for sentiment analysis” and “comparative study of machine learning algorithms for rainfall prediction” on International Journal of Advanced Research in Engineering and Technology. He is a co-author of book entitled “Data Warehouse and Data Mining” published by KEC Publication, Nepal. He has experience in supervising computer science and information technology related Projects. His core area of interest includes Artificial intelligence, Machine learning, Deep learning and Data Science with Python.
